Hey BSN, so this is the first video guide I've ever tried making so I'm very new to this and am not sure if it's any good or not.

As I've done about as many platinum solos as anyone else on here and have a lot of experience I thought I'd try and make a guide about how to do them. I should of made one of these a long time ago but have only recently started doing commentary so.

In the guide I try to mainly explain game mechanics and tactics that will help you solo and how to do objective. I tried to only use clips I already had (which wasn't that many) which meant I had to explain objectives in the menu screen and then show an example of me doing the objective.

I didn't go into specific classes and weapons builds becuase there are already a lot of videos explaining what you can use, also my map, enemy and equipment video could have been a bit more detailed.

The Guide:

Introduction

Map, Enemy and Equipment

Spawn Mechanics

Kiting and the Spawn Budget

Devices

Escorts

Hacks

Object Recovery    Example 2

Targets

Cleanup

Extraction

Thanks and let me know what you think.

Good stuff. And the spawn lists will come in handy too, thanks. I've been too lazy to write them up since Cyonan's sheet got outdated.

Everyone seems to agree that Ghost is an easy map for a plat solo but I found it pretty tough for some reason, is clockwise or anti-clockwise kiting best?

Counter-clockwise, you do not want to be climbing up the ladder in the back.

@cato potato: I find killing stuff in front of you, while going backwards anti-clockwise, to be easiest on Ghost.

Counter clockwise is better on ghost IMO - only because of the far ladder at the end of the map. I've spent many gels climbing that thing.  Running counter clockwise and dropping down the ladder is much smoother and swift

Cheers. I did it quite a while ago and didn't really have any kind of strategy, I just ran around for an hour trying not to die.

OT - Great idea. I've seen the first two, and will have to watch the rest later unfortunately.

It's good to see you follow through with what we talked about Salmon. Seriously, for people who are new to BSN or just don't know, Salmon is one of the very best players to play this game, certainly one of the best I've played with. Advice from him is about as good as you are going to get, so I highly recommend following his strategies if you are serious at becoming a plat soloer.
Finally, I'm recommending this for the resource library. ;)

Really nice videos, watched all of them. This device-objective was crazy!

I already knew a lot of things you talked about, but I also learned some new things.

Very useful stuff. I'm beginning to delve into doing platinum solos myself and I didn't really take the pointers about the spawn budget into account until now.

Sadly, devices happen to me, a LOT:

Happens to us all, I've probably failed platinum solos 40+ times at least. Most of the time it's targets for me though.

That solo was with the gpr and took me an hour and 45 minutes lol. I actually failed because of that device because I had no cleanup missiles after the objective.

Was gonna put the end to that solo in the cleanup video but it would of been too long.

Very good job, I watched them all. As a person who is not a good soloer and has not tried a Platinum solo I would add a few points to stress to players (some of these from observing your play).

- Don't panic, it sounds like a very elementary thing to say but even though there was a lot going on in the waves you were only immediately concerned with the enemies that could hurt you in the short term. (The Bansee screaming on the other side of the map can't get you so just worry about the critters who are an immediate threat.) I get took worked up at knowing all the threats on a level are out there.

- On objective waves tell the narrator to shut the hell up in your head. You usually have more time than you think you do but that guy is always screaming in your ear to hurry up.

- Hack zones, get to know the little bits of hack zone that you can hide behind that are not out in the open as you did on Vancouver. A reasonable number of them have little pieces behind a wall and such.

I just watched the whole thing. Excellent work Salmon, very complete and very useful.

But if I may suggest you something, it would be to think about showing a successful attempt for pizzas deliveries. Not that you didn't do a good job (this objective is a nightmare in Rio), but a guide with a failure at an example sounds a little bit odd.

I wasn't sure wether to use the rio clip or not and I put that in the description, it's sometimes good to show how hard objectives can get. I may make an additional video of another example of an object recovery.
