Welcome to Well, let me begin by letting you all know that I'm not going to make up statistics like 50% of the people who run this website. The reason for this is as Homer describes it : "Anyone can make up statistics. 75% of all people know that." Having that settled, I'm probably seen as an odd kinda fellow by most people. I'm more than a little geeky, and even a professional bit-head by choice. That's not odd in and of itself, but considering my rather country upbringing, it's a little unusual. My family are all a great bunch of people. My father has spent pretty much his whole life on farms in one capacity or another, but mostly operating a bulldozer. My mother was a housewife who took care of my sister and I as we grew up. Dad's a real down-to-earth guy and very much a people person. Mom is a very sweet woman who is bound and determined to give you everything she can, whether you want it or not. My sister turned out to be a school teacher, and is very good at it. She's got 3 great kids that I spoil as much as possible. And then there's me. My interests, unlike my family's, center on technology. I love computers, electronics, science fiction, video games, and the like. I did get my strong math skills from my father's family though, he's rather good with math, and his oldest sister has been a math teacher most of her life. Incidently, her daughter is the other geek in the family. At an early age I found a fascination with all things Star Trek and Star Wars. I fell in love with the movies, and TV series, and in fact, Return of the Jedi was one of the first films I saw in a theatre. A couple of years after that I fell in love with computers, thanks to my uncle Jerry, and my aforementioned cousin. As a kid I also ended up loving to ride my bike, motorcycles, and swimming. For my outdoor interests, Dad is probably the reason for much of that, as I always loved riding his bulldozer with him as a kid, he and Mom got me my first bike, he got me my motorcycle, and so on. I also liked to draw a lot when I was young. I got better and better at it over the years, hitting my peak in late high school-early college. At that point, I stopped any serious drawing, and my skills have gotten rusty. I kept my interest in the arts though, and still love paintings and sculptures. I also enjoy reading (often classic literature) and watching movies in general. I guess that just about covers it, and I don't want to keep you too long. Check out our pictures in the photo albums to see some of the cool places we've been and things we have been a part of. No. I will not fix your computer. |
