Pretty sure he's just making it up. He equipped 2 Shotguns, and took Bonus power on the Turian Infiltrator's Tac Cloak, but didn't take any Overload.

I noticed the same thing and wondered if I was completely missing something??  He even specified "Evolve 3: Bonus Power – for overload blasts" despite fully speccing everything except Overload.

Unless - 6/6/6/6/6 build?

Check his TGI build. maxes everything except overload, but then takes bonus power @ rank 6 TC, and power damage at rank 4 armiger legion.....

The day I take build tips from a dev is the day I take tips from a bronze / silver player.

Its not happening.

I'm guessing you've also yet to solo platinum with anything thats not kroguard / reetard carbine?

Not to mention using Warfighter gear without an AR -- just for the extra 2 grenades, while grenade capacity would give extra 5...

There's also this great piece of gear called shocktrooper.... which y'know gives you +2 grenades and +12% additive bonus to shotgun damage.

Soloing just confirmed for me that sync-kill are the worst idea that made it into multiplayer, and whoever came up with them has no idea what makes a game fun.

Stim Pack: Fully Evolved

• Evolve 1: Damage
• Evolve 2: Pack Capacity
• Evolve 3: Weapon damage

Tactical cloak: Fully Evolved

• Evolve 1: Duration
• Evolve 2: Recharge Speed
• Evolve 3: Bonus Power – for overload blasts

Armiger Legion: Fully Evolved

• Evolve 1: Damage and Capacity
• Evolve 2: Headshots
• Evolve 3: Damage & Stability

Fitness: Fully Evolved

• Evolve 1: Durability
• Evolve 2: Shield recharge
• Evolve 3: Fitness Expert

why spec into fire 1 power (for overload as stated) but not spec into overload.
If not using an AR with the TGI (which you didn't) and not using overload (which you didn't) rank 6 of tac cloack is a wasted 6 points

you could have went 5 in fitness and added 3 to overload
5 in stimpack and added 3 to overload
5 in overload nad 3 in fitness or stimpack

It seems like wasted points on the build? am i missing something here?

The Shock Trooper gear would also be a good choice. Yes, it only grants 2 extra grenades, but it also gives extra damage to your shotgun.

Also: You know balance is bad when the lead combat designer needs to rely on overpowered classes to complete a challenge meant for all players.

Wow, TC with Bonus Power, extra power damage and no actual "Power"? Ignoring Overload completly?

I don't even know what to say... First Mr. Fagnan admitting some time ago that they balance the game around silver and bronze and now this supposed "advice" that every player with a little experience would dismiss as "unsatisfactory". Confirms my impression on how the devs handle their own game.
Explains a lot though.
