Otherwise known as the 'Legolas Build'.
I feel I should have thought of that myself. Nevertheless, this guy is basically a ninja. He is super fast and incredibly difficult to hit, while also smashing enemies close range. One quote from some ninjutsu master is 'the best place to hide is on your enemies eyelashes'. I think this is especially true in this build. Id love to have enough points and slots to take throwing knives, but evade is just much better at well... evading.

Nice guide,
I use pretty much the same build except i took knives instead of evade. I have to give evade a try for my next promote.
Why death from above is a mandatory passive? Does it work on leaping shot?

Afaik yes.

Is it not worth stealth to get automatic critical hits with it? Especially with full draw or long shot?

Afaik yes.
Oh, that's very good to know. So you grab evade, because you combo chain and leaping shot together and thus have no evasive ability after that?

Exactly. Plus with hook and tackle, you almost always get melee units to swing at the decoy, taking 300% weapon damage in the process.

24 second cooldown with no 'I was Never Here' passive. Hunter doesn't have long shot either. Full draw has a 24s cooldown aswell and is totally useless in CQC.

After stealth starts cooldown use leaping shot. Once you shoot the rolling draw shot stealth tends to be off cooldown.

If stealth didn't cool down faster by 1 second for every single individual hit yeah. Leaping shot that has all arrows land cuts your stealth CD down by half and the griffon bow with throwing blades can get this down lower very fast.

Assuming it isn't blocked and that all shots hit (which is rare) then yeah sure. I still find that evade just has more utility to it.

It's also fun to fling yourself off stairs and heights.

I use:
Explosive Shot
Stealth
Leaping Shot
Evade
Crapton of passives
I cloak and run up to the big bads and do a Leaping Shot at point blank. Critical from Stealth and damage bonus from Razors Edge.
It's interesting to see people skip Stealth. It's saved my butt so many times I can't imagine putting it down in favor of something else.

- Evade (Its a dodge. Cooldown 2s, Cost: 20 stamina. Upgrade creates a brief hologram that damages enemies when hit)
Worth noting that Evade is practically unusable if you're not host/very close to host. As in you'd die less if you didn't even have it slotted, it betrays you that hard. So for about 75% of players, that skill will be complete garbage and a total waste of points. I like Stealth + Leaping Shot much, much, much better--block is a pain against a few targets but the upsides far outweigh that one downside. Stealth CD is completely negligible with Leaping Shot, especially if you have Bow of the Griffon.

I have to agree with others that say take stealth, it is valuable not only as an offensive ability but also as a way to completely drop threat.
I personally run
Explosive Shot
Stealth
Full Draw
Leaping Shot
with Passives
I usually start with stealth and either Full Draw if there is a boss type enemy I need to take down(it is especially useful against the cursed chest bosses) or I use stealth and explosive shot if there is a group of enemies close together. The Damage bonus plus the auto crit on explosive shot can almost one hit a bunch of enemies at once.

This is actually a really good point that I hadn't really thought about when making this. I usually host or connect to people i have very good connection too so lag is rarely an issue. Stealth would probably be the better choice here.

I've very rarely had issues with Evade being useless, and Leaping Shot is frequently blocked.
I'll try your build out sometime!

Looks like a fun build. Thanks for posting it. I'd been puzzling over this class more than any other.

So which is better Stealth or Evade?
Evade is useful if you're host or have a good connection.
Stealth is useful regardless, but Hunter lacks a few traits that would boost stealth to greater efficiency.
It's a mixture of preference and situation.

Exactly this. I do personally feel that the duel dagger rogues benefit from stealth more, but both abilities remove any survivability issues you have

That's an interesting point about the Hook and Tackle - so far I only found it useful against wraith during wave 5.

Yeah it really shines on wave 5 when everything is out in the open. Makes me wish there was more arena style zones in the game.
